| The FTDX3000 would suddenly turn off when transmitting, a symptom that had been occurring from time to time for several days. If I am transmitting on FT8 or CW, the power goes out. And after a while, it turns on again.  |

| I suspected the unit was malfunctioning because it would turn on after a while. First, we checked the fuse. Then the ground side is fused and melted. It is a mystery how the power can still be turned on in this state. And when I disconnect the ground terminal, the radio is still "mumbling" and trying to turn on.  |

| I went around to a car parts store in Osamis and an electronics store and found the same thing for 75 pesos (about $200). The line is a little thin and red, but I am relieved that I was able to buy it.  |
