3.5MHz zepp transceiver antenna (2024/10/15)
About 45 years ago, I reconnected on Facebook with an old buddy, JK1 SNS, who I used to hang out with on the radio and drive around the age of 20.
I was talking to everyone on Facebook about the 3.5 MHz half-sloper,
JK1 SNS had an unused Tsep antenna that they were willing to send to Osamis.

About 45 years ago, when we were in our early 20s
I reconnected with an old friend, JK1SNS, through amateur radio and driving.
While talking about a 3.5 MHz half-sloper antenna on Facebook
JK1SNS mentioned that he had an unused Zepp antenna and offered to send JK1SNS mentioned that he had an unused Zepp antenna and offered to send it to Ozamiz.

This is the tuned circuit and 1/2 wavelength 40m element
This is the matching circuit and the 1/2 wavelength 40-meter element.
This is the circuit inside (the numbers are different)
He has put in up to 300W in CW, but 600W in FT8 may require replacing the varicon.
Barycon capacitance is 2KV100pF
This is the circuit diagram (the values are different).
It seems that they have input up to 300W in CW,.
But to operate at 600W with FT8, the variable capacitor needs to be replaced.
The current variable capacitor has a capacity of 2KV 100pF.

At the bottom there is a coaxial connector and a knob for adjusting the balicon.
At the base, there is a coaxial connector and the adjustment knob for the variable capacitor.
On the top is the terminal that connects the elements
Crocodile mouth connection to element and coil
Coil bobbin length is 25 cm. Coil length is 15 cm.
The length of the coil bobbin is 25 centimeters, and the length of the coil is 15 centimeters.

Tuned circuit housed in a waterproof case
It is said that if it gets wet in the rain or there is metal in the vicinity, the adjustment will be shifted.

The matching circuit is housed inside a waterproof case.
It is said that if it gets wet or if there is metal nearby, the tuning may shift.

The largest ABS waterproof case I found at Shopee, a mail order store in the Philippines: 435 pesos (1175 yen)
I will order the antenna when it arrives.
The largest ABS waterproof case I found on the Filipino online store Shopee is 435 pesos ($7.91).
I will place the order once the antenna arrives.
