Repair MFJ AMERITRON RCS-10 antenna switcher (May 28, 2024)
It was broken by a lightning strike in January 2016.RCS-10 Antenna Switcher
I have neglected it for a long time and was thinking of sending it to MFJ for repair.
However, MFJ has gone out of business and I can no longer contact them.
Help in times of troubleKOA GikenJG2TST Matsui, a combatant of "JG2TST," has been looking for a schematic of the RCS-10.
Remote Control Unit
Relay Unit
Relay unit for outdoor installation
I tried to remove the solder, but it wouldn't melt at all.
The solder surface was oxidized and did not melt!
I scraped the surface of all the solder to remove the oxide film and it either soldered or melted.

M-type connector riveted to the panel of the relay unit
The center pin was soldered to the board and I couldn't get it off, so I had to use a drill to destroy the rivets, which was a rough trick to remove the connector.
Patterns and through holes on both sides of the board were broken everywhere.
Also, all the ceramic capacitors were cracked and shorted.
One relay is also not working, so I removed it and ordered the same one from a mail order shopee in the Philippines
The back side is also repaired with jumper wires.
All LEDs and diodes in the controller unit were blown out by lightning.
Replace with diode on hand from parts bin
There's only so much you can buy in Osamis in case of emergency.
All types of resistors, various types of capacitors, and commonly used connectors are available.

When I was in Japan, I had a big box of Hozan parts, but I threw it away because I couldn't transport them to the Philippines!
Repair complete
Relay unit is installed directly under the antenna in the backyard to save coaxial cable
