| Antenna analyzer MFJ-259B that would have been damaged by lightning When I turn on the power, I can see a faint display, but it is almost invisible. I'm buying NanoVNA, so I don't think I need it, but I sent an email to MFJ just in case. I did so, and the reply came back immediately, "the LCD is ruined"!  |

| In reply to an email. It appears a new display is needed. $9.84 plus shipping.$25 They shipped on April 22, 2024. This was right before MFJ went out of business.  |

I cut the flat cable at the LCD and re-soldered it. |

After replacement, when power is turned on, all letters are displayed as black blocks |

| JG2TST Matsui-san immediately found a schematic of the MFJ-259B, and he was very helpful. If the "PIC is ruined, nothing should show up, if it does for a moment. He advised me that "the resistor for the brightness adjustment may be ruined. He really is a dependable fighter.  |

Replacing the resistor with a semi-fixed resistor fixed the problem! |
