03 October 2025 Repair of elevation rotator KR-500' ordered a potentiometer from Shopee in the Philippines and it arrived today.
Video of repair and operation check.
The potentiometer before replacement was a multi-turn type B500Ω.
The order screen also said it was a multi-turn type, but what I received was not a multi-turn.
I complained to the shop via chat, but there was no reply, so I decided to continue using it.
I replaced the potentiometer and the wiring between the potentiometer and the motor was too short.
I then disassembled the original potentiometer, which was broken.
I found that it was broken at the point where the middle terminal and ring were connected.
This is why there is no continuity at a specific location.
Also, the caulking between the moving element and supporting Bakelite had come off.
This caused the rotation to get stuck in a specific place.
I put the single wire through the hole and soldered it in place.
