Even today, most of the population is Catholic. However, economic exploitation,
ethnic discrimination, and suppression of freedom led to the collapse of the country.

Even in regional cities like Ozamiz, where I live, you can see the national flag being raised all over town. It is not just a ritual, but a sign of the people's patriotism and respect for history.
