JI1FGX/DU9 Mindanao DiaryPlanning a DX Vacation(2009/11/18)
We are planning to go to Camiguin Island IOTA OC-235 with Franco, who has visited us several times!
For them, it is a normal end-of-year vacation, Are you experienced in mobile operations on 7MHz there? I told him that I would like to be there, too, and we developed into a concrete discussion.
Well, Camiguin Island is part of Mindanao and is not particularly unusual in terms of DXCC, IOTA says there will be no ONAIR for about 10 years, so it may be a service for Europeans.
The plan as it stands now is.
December 2009
January 2010

Plan 1
Philippines Team
As a Filipino, I would avoid the end of the year. Work starts again on the 2nd. Year-end and New Year's services for Japan
Japanese Team
Plan 2
Do you want to make ends meet and enjoy your vacation?
Plan 3
Only 3 days at the end of the year
Plan 4
Only 4 days at the beginning of the year
Such a plan could be
I'll see if Franco has an inn where we can install an antenna at the end of November. They will go to see if there are coconut trees near the inn.
Equipment-wise.
Simple 7 MHz only operation
The 18MHz yagi antenna disassembled ours and the 7MHz inverted V
I'd like to be on 7,14,18 MHz anyway (Franco).
And a linear amplifier is a must, too (Thelma and Franco).
Monetary.
Trucks for transporting equipment Go overland to the end of Cagayan and transfer to a boat.
Franco and XYL Gigi estimate 40,000 to 50,000 pesos (80,000 to 100,000 yen), including lodging for everyone. XYL and Franco talked to me over Skype and told me, "Anyone want to donate?" ."Who would donate to a team that is operating mobile for the first time?I couldn't help but get mad at him.
Well, it's always like this, so planning is fun and realization is as much as you can afford, that's the Filipino way!
But if you are from Japan and would like to join us, please feel free to contact us and we will arrange for you to be picked up in Cebu.
