The 18MHz yagi antenna, which I will only raise tomorrow, has been partially rebuilt because I feel that the diameter of the element is too thin.
The part that attaches to the boom was replaced with a 1" thick pipe, then 7/8", 3/4" and shorter pipes to reduce the diameter at once to a 1/4" pipe
The work was assisted by Lotlot, as usual. He has learned the procedure so well that he can make it by himself as long as I give him the drawings.
Oh yeah, he started studying for his Class C license.
Insert each pipe so that they overlap each other and tighten up with screws. Incidentally, we decided not to use rivets because they are inaccurate in tightening up or they sometimes wobble.
We are working on our balcony. It was scorching hot in the sun, so we sat on the tiles and worked all morning and finished around 2pm!
Yes, I received an order (laugh) from a Filipino who saw my antenna making and said, "I would love to make one, so please give me the data! Just in time for the repeatability test, we've decided to have you come on Tuesday.
I did a simulation with MMANA after the element change, but it didn't change much.
