DARC HAMRADIO2003 Report JI1FGX (2003/06/27)
HAMRADIO2003 will be held in FRIEDRICHSHAFEN for three days starting today!
We were allowed to climb the cranked-up tower in the booth next door.
I processed it with PhotoShop to make a panoramic photo.
DH1NGP (Peter) and DO5SAM (Andy) Preparing to exhibit late into the night on June 26, 2003
We get up at 5:00 a.m. and load up.
Peter and Andy's family visit FRIEDRICHSHAFEN tourist attractions
They have booked self-catering accommodation, I have booked a regular hotel.

Lots of snacks for the kids.
Now it's time to go.
Peter is humming "HAMRADIO♪♪" in the car.

From Diebach, where Peter lives, to Friedrichshafen
Approximately 3 hours by autobahn and public roads

On the autobahn, even when driving at 160 km/h, you are passed from the left at a great speed!
Sometimes when a truck comes out of the left lane, it slows down from 160Km to about 80Km all at once.
I unintentionally step on the passenger seat, but Peter is very calm.

Along the way, we saw two cameras that looked like Orbis, but apparently they were not enforcing speed.
(It's unlimited speed.)
On the Autobahn, the distance between cars is half the speed of the car, 50 m if driving at 100 km/h,
If the car is running at 160Km/H, it needs to take 80m. The camera is said to monitor this distance between cars.

This is what holds German beer together.

Next to Messe Friedrichshafensightseeing airship
Arriving at the venue, Peter andSuperControlPreparation of booths for
He rented a place in a corner of a dealership called WiMO.

WiMO is a big wireless store in Europe

YAESU's booth was just around the corner.
A moment before the opening
Come on! The doors are open!
Booths of radio dealers
WiMO is a distributor like Tomei Electronics in Japan. But the booth was about four times bigger.
They then let individuals and small companies rent part of their booths to display their products.
Lots of visitors at Peter's booth!
I also explained to him in my bullshit English, and he said, "Thank you.
I get a response back, so I'm not sure if I'm getting through to them.

Peter is happy to have sold the SuperControl CD-ROM he was demonstrating.
I demonstrated a remote control shack using the Internet.
At home, I have a computer with SuperControl and NetMeeting running and an FT-847 waiting for me.
Access to the Internet from the venue and control your home server with a laptop computer
The hustle and bustle of 7Mhz was heard throughout the venue and attracted a large audience!

Remote control shacks are commonplace today, but back in 2003, they were a pioneer in their field.
Parts distributor booth
I could feel the depth of detail I could buy.
You can even buy new measuring instruments, not junk like at Japanese ham fairs!
This is also a parts store
ICOM's reference exhibit IC-7800 attracted so many people that there was a line.
Kenwood Booth
TS-480 was on display.
I also bought it after I returned to Japan and brought it to the Philippines, but it was broken by lightning!
Substrate Shop
It shows the depth of Europe.
Kiss Electronics Booth
You can find this at Japanese ham fairs.
AMSAT Booth
RSGB Booth
I went to England when I was 18 to visit the RSGB headquarters
YL-meeting Booth
KINDERGARTEN
Couples can leave their children at home and enjoy HAMRADIO as a couple.
You won't find this at a Japanese ham fair.
There was a beer garden outside.
Lively with a live band playing
